[glow=red,2,300]Psionics[/glow]
I thought I would post about psionics, I will quote from www.angelfire.com/rpg2/siegehammer40k/w40krp-psionics.pdf but I will put it in my own words.
Okay, Psionics what are they?
Psionic(Psychic power)/Psionicist(Psychic caster)/Psychic(single)/Psychics(plural) all meaning the same thing, quoting from dictionary.com "From Greek pskhikos, of the soul" It seems everything has a Greek meaning ;D O well back to psionics. Psionics claim you can alter, effect, manipulate the world around you using only your mind. Some people out there are probably saying "How can someone have/use Psychic powers?" Well the human brain only uses 10% of its maximum potential, so abviosly there is room to improve I heard that Einstien used 12-14% of his brain, I didn't hear anything about him having psychic powers so you would have to have more than 12-14%. (25-30% ) I do not believe someone could be taught to use psionics, but you must be born that way. But there is psychic potential in everyone, maybe sometime in the future there might be a surgury to increase intelligence.(Seems kinda ironic: Pshychic powers are created in your mind, thoughts, dreams etc.. are not psysical, but you could take a surgury to increase it ) But in Warhammer 40k they strech psionics kinda far, but backs them up with good reasons. In Warhammer 40k there is something called The Warp, in the .pdf file on psionics it says "for every creature in the material universe also has an existence in the warp, a spirit-self or soul." "A few, the very strongest, can draw energy from the warp into the material universe. With experiance they can give form and purpose to the raw power of the Warp, reading minds, sending mental images or messages, locating people or objects, seeing into th future or the past and so on." I'm just guessing but supposably since every creature has a "spirit-self" or a "soul" in the Warp this would increase the chance of casting a psychic power(s) but to do this the creature would have to be extreamly intelligent, but withen Warhammer 40k they have certain proceadures which can be don to increase the persons int./psychics. A Spook is a stimm, a stimm is a drug that can be injected, inhaled, or "intromited from a surgically implanted gland" <--- from .pdf file All stimms are classified as "Very Rare" Well most weapons are very rare in 40k Getting back to Spook: Spook can only be inahled or injected, it is used by nobility and other wealthy classes, "Spook awakens and unlocks the formant psychic potential that everyone has in their brains. For a short time a character who has taken Spook has access to one psychic power..." Psychic Hood: In the Warhammer 40k Rpg game Inquisitor this item is just used so you can re-roll any falied Psychic test, but in my mod will increase a persons psychic ability somehow. Bionics: Like some people would expect, the replacing of organs and limbs is availible in the year 40k. Bionic Brain: Ya it seems kinda strange but somehow your brain can become bionic....? A bionic brain would increase your characters intelligence and by that happening you may be able to unlock your psychic potential to use the Warp to your advantage, or just remember more things ;D(I think I should go in for that Implants: Psi-Booster: This implant is only usefull if you allready are able to use psionics, it just makes it easier to use them, from the psionics .pdf file ----> "A psi-booster stimulates the part of the brain resposible for controlling the ise of psychic powers" That is all the items/implants etc... that was in the .pdf file. Also it says in the psionics .pdf that "A few, the very strongest..." sounds like there is a shortage of Psykers. But 1000 Psykers must be sacrificed to the Emperer to sustain him. The Emperer is the most powerfull human Psyker in the universe, but he is not really alive, I think they keep him in a tank or something, but since the Emperer is soooooo great its not called a tank but the "Golden Throne" Comeone you 40k guys why are you kidding yourselves you just put him in a tank. Getting back to my point, 1000 Psykers must be sacrificed to him to sustain him or something, WOW..... what happend to "A few, the very strongest..." Moving away from the stimms etc... In Warhammer 40k I would think that most or all of psykers are extreamly int. in science/chem./robotics/survival.... but in the current age, I dont believe most or all psychics are extreamly smart, maybe the other half of their brain weakens so the psychic side can "thrive".
All for now, might add some later.
